In this course, students learn about the geography, history and culture of different countries in the North American (other than United States) and South American continents. Students get to explore the physical geography, history, food, language, religion, clothing, celebrations & events, music, art & architecture of these countries. Specifically, they study Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Cuba, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama. Students develop a sense of understanding of different regions and cultures and learn to appreciate the uniqueness of each one.
Note: This course is not designed for ELL (English Language Learners) students. ELL students may enroll in this course ONLY if they have adequate mentor support at their home school and are able to fulfill all course requirements.
