PROSSER, WA (PRWEB) October 17, 2012

Red Comet announced that a revised version of a very popular elective course titled ‘Arts’ is now available as part of its self-paced online curriculum. The ‘Arts’ course helps students explore the intricacies and technicalities of art. Art is, in one way or the other, a part of everyone’s life. This course provides the fundamental principles for appreciating art. The course explains visual arts concepts and vocabulary. The student explores the genres and styles from various artists, cultures and times, and examines the audience participation level. Students use visual arts to communicate for a specific purpose.

Upon completion of this course, students develop a creative process to visual arts. Students learn to respond to a presentation/exhibit of visual arts and express ideas and feelings on the presentation/exhibit. This course explores how the arts impact and reflect lifelong choices, and how arts influence and reflect cultures/civilizations, place and time. Students explore various career paths in the field of arts.

“I had taken a few elective courses at my school and was interested in taking more. But there were not a whole lot of choices in elective courses. My school’s Arts teacher pointed me to Red Comet’s elective course. I have always been interested in Arts and I immediately enrolled in the Arts course at Red Comet. The course strengthened my lifelong interest in Arts. The topics cover many different subjects in the field of Arts and the material is presented using various videos and pictures. I am a visual person and this helped me a lot”, said one student who took the Arts Elective course at Red Comet’s online program. “Our granddaughter scored okay in the main courses that she was supposed to take at her private school. But what really interested her was Arts. The private school that she attends is small and does not offer many electives. Red Comet offers several elective courses that are very interesting and cover a wide range of subjects. Our granddaughter loved the Arts course on Red Comet and she decided to take other elective courses as well. The assignments helped us explore her many skills. Once she graduates from high school, she wants to pursue a degree in the Arts!” disclosed a very satisfied grandparent from Texas.

“Art is a very popular subject that many students love to explore. Most schools do not offer courses in the Arts for either credit recovery or retrieval. Art has been cut back by many schools across the nation pending budget cuts. Elective courses help students broaden their perspectives and pursue their interest in a subject. Online programs like Red Comet offer these opportunities to students where they can learn about their favorite subject like Arts”, said Ms. Sapna Ganeshan, President of Red Comet.

“This course presents the subject matter in an exploratory way. Students are exposed to various mediums of art and have the opportunity to explore and understand some of the finest works of art throughout the centuries”, said Dr. Jay Srinivasan, Managing Director of Red Comet.
