Course Overview:

Art is unique from other courses you might take in school. With art, you can pursue creative expression. Creative expression is the process of uniquely making thoughts and feelings known through art. No two pieces of art are ever the same. What you create will always be much different from the work of others.

In this course, we will explore many different styles of art. We will learn how to create unique works of art using a variety of skills and techniques. We will also practice reproducing styles of art using different mediums. An art medium is a material used to create art. There are hundreds of art mediums. The most common include graphite (pencil), colored pencils, paint, paper, clay, yarn, or metals.

Module 1:

In this module, you will learn the following objectives:

  • Learn the elements of art and apply them in an art evaluation.
  • Understand the components of creating still life artwork.
  • Practice drawing a still life.
