Course Overview:
Continue your journey in the exploration of the Chinese language and the richness of its diverse cultures. In the Chinese 2 course, you will sharpen the increased listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills you acquired in Chinese 2. While oral communication remains the main focus at this level, reading and writing will receive more emphasis as well. You will dive a little deeper into the culture and apply what you learn through written practice, listening, and speaking exercises.

- Identify cultural, economic, religious, and political contributions of the Quin, San Guo, and Tang dynasties.

- Compare and contrast areas of the home, home activities, and meals from Chinese culture and in the United States.
- Identify symbolism of colors and zodiac symbols in Chinese culture.
- Identify and use weekends, shopping, clothing and accessories, sports, non-sports pastimes, and weather expressions vocabulary.
- Compare and contrast clothing, currency, sports, pastimes, and weather expressions from Chinese culture and in the United States.
