This course explains the basics of movement, physical fitness, and nutrition. It incorporates components of skill-related fitness as related to careers, occupations and recreation. The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain an active life. Relevance and applications of the relationship of nutrition planning to physical performance and body composition are highlighted. This course evaluates how nutritional requirements change, and analyzes the effectiveness of various nutritional products. The student will explore how healthy and unhealthy eating patterns impact the function of the body. The scientific method and investigation is linked to the analysis of daily health and fitness habits. Career opportunities in health and fitness are discussed. The student effectively analyzes personal information to develop an individualized health and fitness plans.
