Red Comet, an Accredited, Self-Paced, Online High School, will launch New Grade 11 English Language Arts Course Titled: Become A Skilled Writer.
Prosser, WA (PRWEB)September 28, 2017
Red Comet expands its curriculum by announcing the addition of a new high school course where students learn how to become skilled writers. This course will be available for students in January 2017 for the Spring Semester.
Writing begins with reading skills and in our Become a Skilled Writer course, students will begin with essential reading skills that will help them to understand and identify literary themes and how to analyze literature with evidence. After mastering skills such as character development, structural choices and point of view, students will review foundational American literature from the Colonial Period through the Modern Period. From there, students will build their essential writing skills and learn how to write convincing, evidence-supported arguments and narratives.
In this course, students will hone their research and writing process, as well as learn about the latest options available in writing technology and tools. Students will explore how to utilize speaking and listening to become more effective writers and how to use digital media to present their work. By the end of the course, students will be able to demonstrate their command of English grammar, context and figurative language to write effectively for any purpose.
