Art is, in one way or the other, a part of everyone’s life. This course provides the fundamental principles for Art Appreciation. The course explains visual arts concepts and vocabulary. The course discusses the genres and styles from various artists, cultures and times, and examines the audience participation level. This course encourages students to use visual arts to express and present ideas and feelings and to communicate for a specific purpose. In this course, you will also learn about art from all over the world. This course covers art from several periods and regions. Students learn about the beauty of prehistoric art which includes cave paintings, megaliths and sculptures. The period of western art from the ancient Romans to the medieval period produced some incredible art and architecture. In this course, you will study about the ancient Roman, Early Christian and medieval art. The course also dwells on the spectacular art produced in the Spanish world as well as Asia. When you complete this course, you will have a good understanding and appreciation for art from different parts of the world.
