Spanish I Semester 2 (v.RC – Intro to Spanish)

Recommended Grade Level: 9 - 12

This introductory course in the Spanish language builds on the skills learned in Semester 1. The student learns how to use Spanish when talking about the past, talking about the present & the future, expressing emotions, discussing nature, discussing sports, sports & hobbies, describing body parts, making commands & demands and everyday life in general. Students are exposed to the basics of grammar including nouns & pronouns, advanced verbs, using prepositions & conjunctions and using accent marks. Students learn about popular sayings and how to use basic Spanish and its vocabulary in their everyday life.

In this course, learners understand the meaning of spoken and written conversations to share information, reactions, feelings, and opinions. Learners understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed on a variety of topics.Learners use the language to investigate, explain, and reflect on the nature of language through comparisons of the language studied and their own.
