Grade 7 Science Semester – 1

Recommended Grade Level: 7

Grade 7 Science (Middle School Comprehensive Science 2) is the second in a series of three consecutive middle school science classes. It builds on concepts introduced in the first course of the series (Grade 6 Science), including the disciplines of life science, physical science, and earth-space science. In addition, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts are integrated throughout the course. In this semester, students will learn about the energy that moves through living and nonliving things and how that energy affects matter, the different biological interactions in the world around us, the evidence of change and the forces that drive this change over time, the methods used to determine the age of Earth and its parts. Students will also explore the layers of Earth and how they interact to create geological processes and events.
